The last project meeting of the MIMESIS project took place on 4-5. June 2019 in Skien, Norway, where EFD Induction is based. The final meeting was embedded into an international workshop “Workshop on Mathematics and Materials Science for Steel Production and Manufacturing”.
Therefore, several well-known experts in the research area of materials science as well as mathematical modeling, simulation, and optimization with applications in steel production were invited.
This workshop turned out to be a success, all invited speakers gave interesting presentations on their respective research (see the program). A special highlight was that the early stage researchers of the MIMESIS project presented the outcome of their respective theses, which gave a very elaborated overview of the research conducted during the MIMESIS project and the implications of those.
After the two day workshop, we had some internal MIMESIS meetings to clarify the tasks for the final period of the project.
